Kirsten Webster, Youth Advocacy Program/Substance Abuse Coordinator

Hello, my name is Kirsten. Prior to coming to this position in September of 2007, I was a fulltime student at the University of Maine at Farmington studying community health. My position as the YAP/Substance Abuse Coordinator aligns with my interest in helping people make healthy choices. From my experiences as an athlete, active outdoor individual, and student, I’ve learned that life is about making choices. Whether or not they are healthy is important to our quality of life. Making them healthy is something I’m committed to doing on a daily basis. I look forward to this opportunity to work youth in making healthy choices for themselves and their community. So far I have a great group of students at MCI, Warsaw Middle School, and Sebasticook Valley Middle School. They are students as well as leaders who want to work with others in the community to promote healthy living. I hope to also get a group started at Nokomis and begin increasing the awareness of underage drinking, tobacco use, and abuse of prescription drugs.
